Middle School Athletics

Information about our Middle School Athletic Program~
Students in grades 6th - 8th are able to participate in the interscholastic sports programs which consist of Basketball, Cheer Squad, Cross Country and Girls' Volleyball!  The students will scrimmage and play a variety of different schools and levels of competition. Ultimately, the goal is to praise God when we win and praise God if we lose. What a wonderful time to compete and show our light to the world!

The cost to participate is $80 per sports team which will be billed to your account after tryouts are completed and the team members are selected.

The “Young Runners" Cross Country program is for students in 5th and 6th grade. This program gives the students an opportunity to train with the cross country team. If, possible a couple of meets will be arranged for the student to be able to compete. The cost for the "Young Runners" Cross Country program is currently $60.

Please visit the Resource Information below to download the needed forms. Completed forms need to be returned to Mrs. Morgan, Athletic Director. If you have any questions, please contact Athletic Director, Mrs. Maren Morgan at (330) 562.8191 ext. 314.

Player Expectations~
These are just a few expectations of each participant:

Goal - To glorify God with our verbal and nonverbal actions.
Season - To win as many games as possible while attempting to play as many players as possible.
Attitude - To bring a positive, teachable attitude to practice and games. It is strongly encouraged from players and parents to provide unconditional enthusiasm throughout the season.
Punctuality - Be on time to practices and games.
Absences - When playing a team sport, you’re committing to attending every practice and every game regardless of your eligibility status. If you miss a practice before a game, please do not expect to see much playing time, especially if something important was taught at practice prior to the game.
Playing time - Playing time isn’t automatic. Work hard in practice and have a positive attitude increases the chances to play.
Uniforms - Wearing a uniform is a privilege not a right. Uniforms are only permitted to be worn at VCA scheduled games or permission from the Athletic Director and/or administration.

Physical Information~
Each year a physical is required to be completed before tryouts and submitted to the Athletic Director. Please check with your insurance company to see when you are eligible to have a physical completed. CVS and Walgreens may also be able to assist with completing the physical form.
