Welcome to the Principal's Corner
Dear Parents,
After traveling to Israel, I realized that in the Garden of Gethsemane the opportunity for eternal life was sealed by our Lord as he knelt and prayed in the Garden, " Not my will, but Thy will." In that moment God's grace became a reality, as our Lord sufferred and took the penalty for all of our sin. The agony became more poignant seeing the garden as I walked where Jesus might have walked, or knelt to pray. There is a tangible peace in the garden.
As we approach Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the glory of Resurrection Sunday I am praying that all of us at Valley Chrisitan Academy will become better servants as we reflect on the wonderful gift of eternal life that He has given us.
If you go online to search for pictures of Gethsamae, you will see where Jesus made His decision to save humanity. Notice the girth of the olive trees that are thousands of years old. It is said in Israel that the olive tree is symnbolic of the Jewish people. There is always a little root that springs up from an olive tree. The olive tree is a living testimony of the Jewish people and the nation itself.
I hope you can take time to find the pictures and that you share them with your children. I also pray that your celebration is centered on our Lord's gift of salvation... for those who call upon His name shall be saved!
Joyfully,
Connie Eide
